Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Indonesian President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono said here on Tuesday the nation could handle the bombing tragedy on Friday and was ready to conduct recovery efforts.

"The Indonesian nation will rise and continue to rise. We will be stronger, more united and aware that we could together rise again," he said when dedicating the Museum of Bank Indonesia in the downtown area in West Jakarta.

He said national security was important not only for economic activities but also for the people to be able to carry out their activities well.

Eleven years ago the country`s security conditions were bad and it took years to improve them, particularly in the past four years, he said.

"Suddenly a bad reality emerged again. What I want to say is let us be aware of, understand and united in the committment to the must of security," he said.

The head of state called on all parties not only security agencies but also the general public to together again create security.

"We all shared the negative impact (of the incidents) and therefore besides the security agencies who are given a mandate by law (to deal with such cases), we all must also care with regard to out country`s security. We must not be careless and off-guard because if we do we could be used by them," he said.

He said "do not think it is `business as usual`. This affects all people. We must all be united and not allow our attention be distracted to other issues for manipulation."

President Yudhoyono said the government was determined to be able to unveil the case soon and bring those responsible to them to justice.
"We can assure security and face it," he said.
