Based on information gathered from the Meteorological and Geophysical Agency (BMG), Thursday (2/7/2009), the earthquake occurred at 04.10 WIB. Earthquake center is located 107 kilometers southeast of Bitung, North Sulawesi, 145 km southeast Manado, 146 km northwest Ternate, 247 kilometers northwest Labuha, and 284 kilometers southeast Tahuna.
Earthquake with a depth of 23 kilometers is not a potential issue a tsunami. Up to now, not yet known due to the impact of the earthquake.
